The immune system plays a central role
in the pathogenesis of a broader range of
diseases than previously anticipated.
While the importance of immunology research on various diseases
will continue to increase,
we researchers have now realized that there is
an explicit limitation in translating the findings of mouse models to humans.
In our laboratory, we do human immunology research.
We analyze human immune cells in blood and
tissue samples obtained from healthy subjects and patients,
by using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.
We aim to understand the pathophysiology of various diseases,
establish disease biomarkers, and develop novel therapies.
